A couple weeks back I had the privilege to see 311 and Sublime with Rome in concert at the LC in Columbus. I don’t have to tell you that it was a great show, and a good night to boot. “Beautiful Disaster” has always been one of my favorite songs, so I decided to pay it homage with a piece inspired by the song and my feelings while listening to it.

So here it is, “Beatuful Disaster”:

Music, Technology, Weekly Roundup /

I have decided that on Fridays I will be posting a weekly link roundup that includes all the coolest links to websites, news stories, and other random interesting bits that I have come across over the past week, enjoy.

We begin with one of my (personally) favorite bits of news that came out this week. Nickelodeon will be airing most of their 90′s shows starting midnight, Monday July 25th on TeenNick. You can watch the short promo video on Wimp. As someone who grew up watching all those great shows:  Salute your Shorts, Doug, Double Dare, etc- I am definitely setting my DVR.

After months of anticipation, the music service Spotify finally makes it way to the US under an invite only pre-release.  Spotify lets you listen to millions of songs for free, with unlimited song skipping with an ad here and there. A premium Spotify service is said to allow you to ‘store’ songs on your device for offline listening later. Watch out Pandora and Last.fm. You can sign up for an invite on their website.

The last little tidbit that I would like to share and comment on, is New York state legalizing Gay and Lesbian marriages. Firstly I think that this is a great step towards an actual “free” America, whether gay, straight or bi you should be able to marry the person you love. I am sure that other states will follow suit, I predict California will be the next although propositions have been turned down in the past. So, if your gay, move to New York, for now…
